My CB Engine Review

As I said way back in my first post, the reason I created this blog was to spend some time checking out all the features of CB Engine – and then provide you with an honest, in-depth review.

In other words, unlike most of the sites you’ll see posing as CB Engine “reviews,” this site is NOT just a paste-in of promo copy off the CB Engine website.  What I’m sharing with you are my genuine thoughts, based on my actual use of the product.  (Which I own.)

Anyways, from  day one it’s been my intention to eventually write one main post that will give you “the real deal” on CB Engine - good or bad.

Well – FINALLY – here it is.  So read on and enjoy…

FEATURES UP THE WAZOO

The first thing you’ll notice about CB Engine is that it has a ton of features to help you find the top ClickBank products.  Here (in my opinion) are the major ones that’ll interest you:

  • Full access to the current ClickBank Marketplace product list in sort-able columns.
  • Detailed graphs, stats and ranking histories of the products.
  • A slick Bookmark system that lets you save off product info from your search results – excellent for managing products you’re currently promoting or interested in.
  • CB Storefront – a php script that lets you put a complete ClickBank mall right on your website.
  • An advanced search box that lets you drill down and do customized searches that specify exactly what kind of product information you want to see.
  • CB Insider – a special search algorithm that shows you products with high profit potential.
  • CB Nickname Manager – gives you 1-click login to clickbank.com to view your stats.
  • CB Ad Builder – lets you build ClickBank (Adsense-style) ads for your web site quickly and easily.

Now, because the site is so feature-rich, it might at first seem a little intimidating or confusing to a new user.  But I can tell you from my own personal experience that, with just an hour or two of use, you quickly get comfortable doing all the basic stuff you’d want to do – namely, find great products to promote.

After that, if you take some time now and then to play around and explore a bit, it just gets better and better.

CB ENGINE -  EASY TO USE?

At this point I’ve worked with CB Engine for about a month.  In that time I’ve checked out all of the features.  I’ve used it to pick out about ten different ClickBank affiliate products that I am or will soon be promoting.  I’ve used CB Ad Builder to build some Clickbank ads to put on my sites.  (ClickBank ads, if you haven’t used them, are like Adsense ads.)  And I’ve also setup a group of bookmark folders (by niche) to save my research info in.

Now, does that mean I’m now some kind of CB Engine “expert.”  Well – probably not. But that doesn’t matter.  Because the fact is, you don’t need to be an expert to start benefiting from it.

The truth is, CB Engine is ridiculously easy to use.  If you’ve already used the Clickbank Marketplace search tool (which I would assume you have), then you already know how to use the basic search tools CB Engine provides.  The only difference here is that instead of that kind of “clunky” text-based interface you get on the Marketplace page, CB Engine gives you a great graphical interface – with everything organized into neat, sortable columns.

[By the way - I don't what Matt Broich's background is (he's the creator CB Engine) but the "look and feel" of the site, the amount of underlying data it contains, and the fast performance of the site are all awesome.  So whether he outsourced the programming or did it himself, it is obviously the work of extremely-competent professionals.]

SO WHAT WILL CB ENGINE DO FOR YOU?

In a nutshell, then, here’s what I believe CB Engine will do for your affiliate product promotions.

The 5 Top Ways CB Engine Will Help You Make More Money

  1. Spot New Product Trends So You Can “Catch The Money Wave”
  2. Rapidly Find The Best-Paying Best-Performing ClickBank Affiliate Products In Your Niche
  3. Make Faster, More Informed Product Promotion Decisions – Based On Data Not Guesswork
  4. Get And Stay More Organized By Using CB Engine Bookmarks & Folders
  5. Quickly Create Web Ads With The Built-In Ad Builder

The 3 Biggest Mistakes CB Engine Can Help You Avoid Making

  1. Choosing Lame Or Downward-Trending Products To Promote
  2. Promoting Products That Have A Negative History (Due to High Refunds Or Possible Legal Problems)
  3. Choosing Second Or Third-Rate Products In A Niche Instead Of The Best

CONCLUSION

If you’ve gotten this far, it’s gotta be pretty obvious by now that CB Engine has made me a believer.  Which means I get to feel great about promoting it, both to my list and to you.

But is it for everyone?

Here’s how I see it: if you’re content be a ClickBank part-timer and to just promote a couple of products, then you certainly don’t need the wealth of information CB Engine provides.  Just keep on using the normal Marketplace search tool.  Or else use the very cool freebie access that CB Engine gives you.  Even though it restricts the information you’ll be able to see, it’ll still be more than you get from the normal Marketplace searches.  And you’ll still get to enjoy its great easy-to-use interface.

But if you’re serious about making money promoting affiliate products on the ClickBank hop net – which to my mind means you’re going to be regularly on the lookout for new products to promote – this is a tool you definitely don’t want to be without.

If you’re like me, the more you use it, the more you’ll love it.  It’s gonna save you tons of time going through ClickBanks massive inventory (11,000 the last time I looked) of affiliate products.  But even more important, it’s going to give you the in-depth information you’ll need to make smart decisions about the affiliate products you’ll promote.

Bottom Line: If you’re serious about ramping up and making a full-time income as an affiliate marketer – and ClickBank is a major component of your online marketing strategy – then to me it’s a no-brainer. Click here to visit the CB Engine website.

P.S. – By the way, with a lifetime subscription only 17 bucks more than the $39.95 annual membership, to me, lifetime is the only way to go….

P.P.S – I mentioned this back in my very first blog post, but the place I first heard about CB Engine was in George Brown’s Google Sniper training manual.  If you’re not familiar with Google Sniper, it’s an absolutely awesome product.  To find out more about it, click here.

Michel Fortin Calls CB Engine “A Goldmine”

Hey, Papa Jim here.

Just ran across a blog post by famed copywriter and internet marketer Michel Fortin where he mentions CB Engine.  Here’s what he says about it:

MichelFortin

CB Engine is an “all-things” Clickbank search engine and tracking website. It offers a free trial, but it’s only $9.95 for three months, so it’s pretty economical. [My note: it's actually $39.95 for a 12-month subscription now.]

This site is a goldmine. It offers tons of great statistics, from popularity, momentum, conversion, affiliate scores, and more. What I like about CB Engine Pro is using its various live reports to find products, such as “Brand New,” “Re-listed,” “Removed,” “CB Insider,” “Best Gains,” and “Movers And Shakers.”

You can then do a search for a product. But the results offer a ton of golden information into the product’s productivity, which is a great start. For example, the search results will give you a list of products, in order of popularity, performance, sales, affiliates, momentum, and more.

The beauty of this is, you can see products that sell well. If you want to sell a product that’s already using great copy and is proven to sell, go right ahead.

Anyways, just thought I’d pass that along to you.  Still working on my CB Engine video.  It’ll be an overview of that shows you the actual pages where you can see the features Michel mentions.  Might even have it done later today, so check back soon.

Oh – and by the way, to visit the CB Engine site, click here.

A Couple of Cool Tools For Clickbank Affiliates

Hey, Papa Jim here…

Just wanted to just give you a quick update on some of the features I’ve discovered about CB Engine.

Now please understand: this is NOT my final review of the product.  I’m still in the process of evaluating it.

But I have discovered that it has some cool features that I’m kind of excited about.  So I thought I’d knock out a quick post that gives you a quick overview of them, okay?

CB Insider

While the ClickBank Marketplace only shows a product’s current ranking, CBengine collects and displays the ranking history for each product over time. The CB Insider option uses these reports to track and pinpoint opportunities that have high potential.  You get 3 categories of output:

* New Killer Products
* Underexposed & Climbing
* Underexposed & Gaining

Here’s a sample output page from CB Insider…

Bookmark Folders

Another cool feature CB Engine has is a bookmark system for storing the affiliate marketplace products you look up.  It’s built right into the search results page.  This allows you to quickly “save” products that interest you to one or more folders that you create.  So that instead of having to look them up every time you go to the Marketplace, you just go your Inbox folder and they’re right there. Bookmarks can be added, deleted, moved, or grouped into different folders.  Here’s a screenshot of a bookmarks page:

cb_engine_bookmarks_screenshot

Once they’re in a folder, you just click on them to go back to the full affiliate marketplace product listing.  If you’re going through a lot of products, this is a great tool for keeping track of the ones that interest you.

Woops…running out of time.

To tell you the truth, I can see this review process is going to take longer than I expected.  CB Engine has got a LOT of features.  So what I’m thinking is that I’ll put together a video for my next post so that you can see it in action.  I might even do a couple of them.

I’m definitely liking what I’m discovering about CB Engine.   But I’m still not ready to give you a full review.  That’ll be in an upcoming post.  So check back when you get a chance.

See ya!

The Story Behind My CB Engine Review Site

Hey – thanks for stopping by.

A while back I was going back through a section of George Brown’s Google Sniper course when he mentioned something called CB Engine.  (By the way, you probably already know all about Googlesniper, but in case not, you can click here to check it out.)

Anyways, I took a quick hop over to the CB Engine site and checked it out.  I immediately liked what I saw – a very nice graphical interface to the Clickbank Marketplace.

cb_engine_marketplace_screenshot

Although I love Clickbank, I’ve never been too crazy about the way the Marketplace page displays product searches.  The output have always seemed kind of “clunky” to me.  (Sort of like something you’d see on an old MS DOS machine, if you’re old enough to remember those!).

Anyways, that first time I just took a quick look.  I checked the price: 40 bucks for a year’s subscription.  Hmm – was a nicer interface to the Marketplace worth $40?  Probably not.  But then I saw that it seemed to offer a lot of other features as well.  So I said to myself, “Okay, I’ll come back later and check it out more closely.”

The next day I went back.  That’s when I noticed that CB Engine offers a free trial that gives you full membership access for 15 days.  (Anyone can use the basic search tools for free, but you only get partial access to the site’s tools.)

That’s when it occurred to me to set up this review site.  “Here’s what I’ll do,” I thought:

  • Sign up for the free 15-day trial.
  • Explore all the features it offers over the next few days.
  • Set up this blog site and post entries on what I was finding out about it.
  • See if it would actually help me make more affiliate marketing money.
  • Write a no-holds barred review on whether I liked it or thought it was junk.

So that’s the story behind the site.  I’ve signed up for the 15-day trial.  Check back in couple of days and I’ll give you an update on what I’ve found out about CBEngine.com.

Then, when I post my final review, I’ll let you know whether I think CB Engine sucks – or if it can actually help you and me make some affiliate bucks.

Meantime, if you want to check out CB Engine for yourself, click here.

See ya!
